Steps You Should Follow If You Have A Motorbike Accident

When it comes to the unfortunate event of being involved in a motorbike accident, it is important to know what steps to take.

As with any type of accident, there are things that you should do and things that you shouldn't do.

Motorbike accidents can be particularly dangerous and knowing how to handle the situation can make a big difference.

In this guide, we will discuss what you should do if you have a motorbike accident so that the outcome is as positive as possible.

Seek Medical Attention

The first and most important thing to do after a motorbike accident is to seek medical attention. Even if you feel fine, it is always best to get checked out by a medical professional. Adrenaline can often mask injuries and it is important to identify any potential problems early on. If you or anyone else involved in the accident is seriously injured, call an ambulance immediately. Some injuries may not be apparent right away, so it is important to monitor your health closely in the days following the accident.

Utilize Towing Services

After ensuring everyone's immediate safety and seeking medical attention, it is essential to address the damaged motorbike. If it is not drivable after the accident, transporting your motorcycle to a safe location is important.

This can be done by utilizing a towing service or having the police arrange for your bike to be taken to a nearby impound lot.

It is important not to attempt to ride a damaged motorbike as it could result in further injury.

If the accident occurred on a busy road or highway, do not attempt to move the bike yourself as it could be dangerous.

Contact the Authorities

After ensuring everyone's safety and seeking medical attention, the next step is to contact the authorities. This includes local law enforcement and emergency services. They will be able to assess the situation, gather evidence, and file a police report. This report will be important for insurance purposes and in the event of any legal proceedings. Be sure to get a copy of the police report for your records.

Gather Information

While awaiting the authorities' arrival, it is beneficial to gather information from all parties involved in the accident as well as any witnesses. This includes obtaining names, contact details, license plate numbers, and insurance information. Maintaining a calm and courteous demeanor throughout this process is crucial, as emotions can be heightened following an accident. Additionally, capturing photographs or videos of the scene and any motorbike damage may prove valuable for insurance claims and legal proceedings.

Document the Scene

If possible, take photos of the accident scene and any damages to your motorbike. These photos can serve as evidence and may be useful in determining fault or in insurance claims. Also, make note of any road hazards or weather conditions that may have contributed to the accident. If there are any witnesses, have them provide a statement and their contact information as well. All of this information can be beneficial in the event of any legal proceedings.

Consider Legal Action

In many motorbike accident scenarios, it may be prudent to consider legal action, especially if there is a dispute over who was at fault or if you have sustained serious injuries. Consult with a personal injury attorney who specializes in motorbike accidents. This professional can guide you through the complex legal landscape, helping you understand your rights and options. They can also represent you in interactions with insurance companies and in court, if necessary. Remember, initiating this process promptly is crucial as there are often time limits on filing personal injury claims.

Being involved in a motorbike accident can be a traumatic experience. It is crucial to remember that your safety and health are the top priorities in such situations. By following the steps outlined in this guide, you can ensure that you handle the situation effectively and with the utmost care. From seeking immediate medical attention to considering legal action, each step plays a significant role in navigating the aftermath of a motorbike accident. So, stay calm, follow the appropriate steps, and take care of yourself and those involved in the accident.

Yes & No. We sell a wide range of pants which DO have protective knee and hip pads and are suitable for motorcycle riding AND we also sell biker style jeans and pants which, although are all made of durable tough material are not certified for safety and do not have the protective padding needed in case you do get a little too throttle heavy and lay your bike down (we have all been there and done that!). Please check each product and contact us if you have any questions on this.

Since we offer a wide range from various manufacturers, they all have their own sizing per brand. However there is a sizing chart on each product page, look for the tab just above the description or the size chart link on the right side, or email us and we can recommend the size for you.

PLEASE NOTE : the size charts are taken directly from the manufacturer and the length is incorrect on some, the length is generally a standard length based on the waist size (waist size is correct on all size charts).

Typically the standard FREE shipping (which has full online track and trace) takes anywhere from 7 to 40 days, depending on your country. We also offer an expedited shipping service for a low fee of $4.95. Please see the shipping page for more detailed info.
